Outstanding exam performances: 12 top-ten results

Twelve d'Overbroeck's College students achieved the remarkable feat of ranking within the top ten marks nationwide in this year's exams.

Particularly impressive is the fact that three d'Overbroeck's students ranked amongst the top ten for AS Mathematics, and two for AS Politics.

Can anyone tell me what does "top 10" mean? Does that literally mean top Ten? Or maybe 100 people have the same score like you?

Yes, it is literally the top ten. The wording used by the exam board (Edexcel) is "Student X was amongst the top ten students".
